Student Employment Positions Available
Event Programmer
Event programmers assist with development and coordination of all-campus events and programs sponsored by the office of Student Engagement & Connection. Each programmer will be responsible for a specific set of all-campus events and programs, which will contribute to a vibrant campus life! Programmers will also make the Student Engagement & Connection Office a welcoming place for all students, staff, and the Parkside community.
Compensation and Hours

$11.00 per hour

Approximately 8-12 hours per week with opportunities for extra hours
Qualifications

Must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.30.

Must be available to work approximately 8-12 hours per week, with evening and few weekend hours required as needed. Must be able to attend mandatory trainings and staff meetings.

Must exercise sound judgment and utilize critical thinking skills.

Ability to meet and exceed deadlines and deliverables especially in the absence of supervision.

Must have excellent customer service skills.

Possess good social media and problem-solving skills and be able to determine priorities.

Must be willing to learn program planning and marketing skills to provide excellent level events.

Must be able to lift up to 30lbs.

Office Assistant
Office Assistants will complete assigned duties, tasks, and responsibilities dealing with the day to day operations of Student Engagement & Connection. Office Assistants support event programmers, promote SE&C events on social media, and engage with student organization members which all contribute to a vibrant campus life! They will also make the Student Engagement & Connection Office a welcoming place for all students, staff, and the Parkside community.
Compensation and Hours

$11.00 an hour

Must be available to work 6-12 hours per week, primarily Monday – Friday 10am – 4pm, but some evenings may be required as needed.
Qualifications

Orientation Leader
An Orientation Leader serves as a leader, supporter, facilitator, and coach to new first year and transfer students in an effort to provide a seamless transition to UW-Parkside. As a team, Orientation Leaders provide high quality education, support, and transition resources to nearly 600 first year, 400 transfer students, and 400 guests per year. Orientation Leaders help incoming students build excitement about their Parkside journey and help to instill a sense of Parkside Pride in all their endeavors.
Compensation and Hours

$13.00 an hour

Must be available 4-6 hours a week during the academic year, and 16-20 during the summer
Qualifications

Must be a full-time, enrolled degree-seeking undergraduate through at least fall 2023.

Minimum of 2.30 semester and cumulative GPA at the time of hiring and must maintain a 2.30 semester/cumulative GPA throughout the term of employment. If you do not have a UW Parkside GPA, you may substitute your high school GPA if you are a first semester first year student or your GPA from a previous institution if you are a transfer student.

Be in good standing with the University and Dean of Students.
