In this interactive, hybrid workshop, participants will learn about and apply best practices in experiential learning to community-based learning and internship courses. A primary focus of the workshop is to create opportunities for participants to develop the knowledge, skills, and competence that will strengthen experiential education within their programs and departments. This information session will dive into the nursing program requirements and expectations. We will talk about what classes you will need, and detailed information about the application process for the nursing professional major. We will conclude the session with a question and answer session and then conclude with a nursing lab tour.

The UW-Parkside Library and the UW-Parkside Natural History Collection are hosting an inaugural Annotation / Identification Day Event, January 9th from 8am to 4pm. Get a behind-the-scenes look at our invertebrate collections, meet invertebrate experts, learn about the value of museum collections, and discover how to make museum collections more accessible.

During this one-day identification blitz, we will label and organize specimens from the UWP Natural history collection. Throughout the day we will tally the number of specimens processed and report the total number at the end of the day. You are welcome to participate for an hour or two, or stay for the entire event!

Please let Jessica Orlofske (orlofske@uwp.edu) know if you are able to attend and if there is a particular group of specimens you would like to examine. Microscopes and other standard laboratory equipment is available on site. We also have students willing to help! If you have any special requests or interests, please let us know and we can try to make accommodations.
