Give Today: Reflection & Multifaith Space

UW-Parkside’s Reflection and Multifaith Rooms were created to serve the needs of our students and employees by providing a space for individual and group prayer, spiritual reflection, and meditation in a central location on our campus. Because religious and spiritual practice are often a core part of an individual’s identity we want to ensure that these spaces are welcoming to all, further supporting our university’s mission to create an inclusive environment where students, faculty, and staff feel safe and can live, grow, and thrive as their complete and authentic selves.

The Reflection and Multifaith Rooms also provide new opportunities for interfaith and cross-cultural dialogue on campus. We hope that groups who regularly use the space for prayer services find ways to engage with one another and learn about different religious practices through planned academic and co-curricular programming.

Centrally located on the ground level of Molinaro Hall, Reflection and Multifaith Rooms are divided into two adjoining spaces with an internal door between them. We have configured the rooms to offer privacy but be welcoming, with natural light and minimal, neutral décor that will work for a variety of traditions. One room will be always open for individual reflection or prayer, while the other is reservable by small groups of up to 30 and will be open for drop-in use when not reserved.

All monetary donations will be used to purchase the resources necessary to create and maintain a welcoming environment for practitioners of all faiths, spiritualities, and traditions, as well as to support programming to promote interfaith dialogue and understanding. We also welcome in-kind donations from individuals or local faith communities to support the creation and maintenance of this space.
