Military & Veteran Success Center presents "Working Warriors - Military Life Beyond Combat"

Veterans WeekKenosha, Wis.- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside's Military & Veteran Success Center presents will host "Working Warriors - Military Life Beyond Combat" a banner exhibit from Nov. 9 through Nov. 15. The exhibit is on loan from the Wisconsin Veterans Museum and was made possible by the Wisconsin Humanities Council.

The exhibit is a photo commemoration of the many service and support roles in the military. Many stories are told of heroic and notable combat missions. More unknown, but highly critical, are the 75% of military roles traditionally considered "non-combat". The banners showcase the distinguished history of those who served to support the efforts of the front lines.

The exhibit will open on Thursday, Nov. 9 with a reception from 4:30-6 p.m. in Wyllie Hall Upper Main Place. Both the reception and exhibit are free and open to the community.

In addition to the exhibit, there will be other activities on campus in commemoration of Veterans Day, including free VIP admission to all veterans and military personnel at the Wisconsin Wrestling Showcase on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 2 p.m. in the De Simone Arena courtesy of UW-Parkside's Athletic department. Come and #DefendTheDen as UW-Parkside hosts McKendree University. With two live mats, the Showcase also features UW-La Crosse vs Cornell College.
