UW-Parkside's New Online MBA Admits First Student

Published: July 9, 2018

Sachi Schevikhoven is the first student admitted to UW-Parkside's fully Online MBA that begins in the Fall Semester, 2018. Dr. Michele Gee states: “We are delighted that one of our former undergraduate students, who graduated cum laude in 2015, is the first to be admitted to our Online MBA. I remember Sachi as an excellent student in my undergraduate business capstone course, and she is now working successfully in the corporate world.”

Indeed, Sachi has had three significant roles at the Luxor Corporation, a growing manufacturer of mobile, industrial, and business furniture. She began as an intern while still a student at UW-Parkside. After graduation, Sachi was hired full-time by Luxor, and has been promoted to Sales Operations Manager. This is a newly created position that was offered to her by the Director of Sales.

Sachi works on designing and enhancing processes to support Luxor's increasing sales volume, and is making it easier to efficiently and effectively address sales logistics, contracts, rebates, and internal/external communications. She reviews sales tactics and uses data analytics to better manage the sales process at Luxor.

Sachi’s responsibilities are growing along with increasing sales at Luxor. She wants to expand her skills, and learn new techniques/strategies to make even greater contributions to her company while continuing to earn more promotions.

She chose UW-Parkside’s Online MBA given her previous academic experience and support from business faculty when she was an undergraduate. The fact that UW-Parkside's new Online MBA is highly affordable and AACSB accredited solidified her decision.

Sachi says, “UW-Parkside’s MBA Program is much more affordable than other MBA programs offered in the area, and is significantly less than institutions that do not even have AACSB accreditation. The Online MBA at UW-Parkside, in addition to having excellent faculty in an affordable program, provides the flexibility needed for busy professionals and managers who travel extensively."

Sachi also stated: “I thank Dr. Gee, Director of the MBA Program and also my former professor, for the hard work she put into overseeing the development of the new Online MBA, and significantly revising admission criteria making it faster to be admitted. I also thank other business faculty at UW-Parkside who teach both MBA and undergraduate classes. These business faculty are excellent. They worked closely with me as an undergraduate, and I learned so much from them. I look forward to being part of this exciting new Online MBA."

We wish Sashi continued academic success and professional growth. There are many more applicants who are in the process of being admitted to the Online MBA. This new program offering provides the opportunity for students to complete their MBA in as few as twelve months. There are six concentrations: Data Analytics, Finance, Global Management, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, and General Management.
