Community Shows Record-Setting Support on Parkside Day
Kenosha, Wis.-
The seventh annual Parkside Day celebration at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside was a huge success thanks to the generosity of 1188 donors contributing over $196,826. This year, 1,285 individuals across the country participated in the day by donating, volunteering, and attending events.
This year’s 1188 number of donors is record-setting for Parkside Day. UW-Parkside appreciates the community’s efforts to support our educational mission and our students.
“We are thankful to our alumni, community partners, faculty and staff members, and the thousands plus supporters throughout the region for making this Parkside Day one for the record books. This level of participation truly represents the excitement around UW-Parkside we experience every day in our community,” said Devon Borst, UW-Parkside's Director of Donor and Alumni Engagement.
Parkside Day highlights significant high-impact opportunities to support students and the community. Parkside Day 2025 showcased campus sustainability, athletics, and scholarships. It continued the university’s focus on scholarships including the Future Focus Fund, the UW-Parkside Foundation's need-based scholarship and financial aid fund. New this year was the addition of the Parkside Pathways fund. Established by the Board of Directors in 2025 this fund opens pathways to Parkside for new and transfer students.
The impact of Parkside Day extends beyond the dollars raised through the Rangers Give Back volunteer initiative. The Rangers Give Back initiative provides opportunities for UW-Parkside students, staff, and community members to volunteer locally and in other communities. In 24 hours, 73 individuals volunteered, contributing 88 hours of service. On-campus Rangers Give Back activities included efforts to paint windows as a deterrent for birds who may accidentally fly into them, and outdoor campus restoration projects. Volunteers painted 430 square feet of windows, removed invasive buckthorn, and provided 409 thank-you calls.
In total, nearly 1,285 members of the UW-Parkside community participated in Parkside Day. In addition to donating and volunteering, students, alumni, and community members participated in celebratory events on campus.
