UW-Parkside Hosts 7th Annual Parkside Day

Published: April 1, 2025

Parkside Day 2025Kenosha, Wis.- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside is excited to announce the 7th annual Parkside Day, on Tuesday, April 8. Students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members are invited to participate in this day of service, celebration, and giving in support of UW-Parkside. There will be various opportunities to get involved throughout the day.

Parkside Day is a 24-hour event that raises funds for the university and celebrates UW-Parkside Ranger pride. Over Parkside Day’s first six years, 5,558 individuals have participated; 4,368 donors have generously given $989,949.52. With a great deal of generous support, Parkside Day has grown exponentially in its lifetime.

Devon Borst, UW-Parkside’s Vice Chancellor for Advancement & Community Partnership explains the importance of this annual event. “Parkside Day represents what it means to be a Ranger. Alumni, current students, faculty, and community partners coming together to celebrate Parkside’s past, present, and future. It is a day for us all to ensure that Parkside continues to impact students, their families, and the companies they work for. Funds donated on Parkside Day benefit everything from scholarships to the sustainability of the beautiful grounds Parkside is located on,” Borst says.

Parkside Day activities will begin on Tuesday, April 8, from 7-9 a.m. with the early bird challenge, during which donors will be entered to win Parkside swag. Parkside Day has a goal of achieving 900 donors on the day. Throughout April 8, there will be opportunities for challenges, matches, and power hours where donors can double their donations. Keep an eye on social media for these opportunities and for special highlights connecting the volunteering happening on Parkside Day directly to the funds that will benefit students on campus.

Volunteerism is another core component of Parkside Day. UW-Parkside would like to encourage participants to give back to the community by volunteering for activities on April 8, including outdoor clean-up volunteer sessions, a bird collision window painting opportunity, invasive species removal and more. Visit the Parkside Day webpage for a list and schedule of volunteer opportunities.

Throughout the day, the campus community and members of the public are invited to participate in challenges and activities that highlight UW-Parkside. The centerpiece of Parkside Day’s activities will be giving challenges to raise funds in support of the Future Focus Fund, UW-Parkside Foundation’s largest need-based student aid fund; Ranger Athletics; and other opportunities that directly benefit student learning and career preparation at UW-Parkside.

The entire community is also invited to join us for Power Up for Parkside Day on April 8 at 5:30 p.m. in the Alumni Room, a special "friend-raising" event where we come together to spread the word and rally support for Parkside Day! Enjoy time with fellow Rangers as participants reach out to friends, family, and our networks to make an impact. Every connection helps fuel the success of our students and campus—let’s make it happen together!
