The exhibition will run from Feb. 4 to March 21, showcasing a collection of artworks where location is integral. The foundation Gallery is open Tuesdays through Fridays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and admission is free and open to the public.

Belland and Chiodo are both residents of the historic 16th Street Studios in Racine, Wisconsin. This location is essential to the artworks on display. Chiodo’s Industrial Abstracts and Industrial Introverts series were composed from explorations of the expansive 150-year-old building. Belland’s Fourth Floor View paintings are observations of the urban landscape from his studio window. Building on this theme of place, Belland will also show works from his Memorial Drive series.

On Feb. 19, visitors will have the opportunity to engage with the artists during an Artist Talk with Belland and Chiodo at 2 p.m. in Bedford Hall at the RITA, followed by a reception from 4 to 6 p.m., in the Foundation Gallery.

Jerrold Belland, a native of rural Wisconsin, brings a lifetime of artistic exploration to the exhibit. Belland’s background includes a career as an art educator and a prolific artist, with works that have graced numerous exhibitions both locally and internationally. His art is a blend of environmental observation and narrative depth, often incorporating handwritten thoughts into his pieces.

Trace Chiodo has participated in numerous juried and invitational group exhibitions. In 2024, two pieces from his Striking Faces of Golf series were selected to be part of the Lunar Codex. The work will be included in the Codex Polaris, scheduled to launch to the Moon’s southern hemisphere in September 2025 aboard the SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket. His work can be found in the KOHLER Golf collection and at the 33 Contemporary Gallery.
