Published: March 17, 2025

UnconformitiesThe Foundation Gallery at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside is pleased to announce Unconformities, a solo exhibition featuring the work of Leslie Smith. The exhibition will run from April 1 to April 29, showcasing a collection of drawings, prints, and books that explore historical narratives and reimagine their relevance in the present.

Leslie Smith, the current Printmaking Artist-in-Residence at UW-Parkside, employs historical primary sources as a foundation for her artistic practice. By engaging with these materials, she uncovers distant yet familiar thought patterns, experiences, and emotions. Through her work, she questions the narratives we inherit and suggests new possibilities for understanding and interpretation.

Artist Talk & Reception

On April 16, visitors will have the opportunity to hear from the artist during the Leslie Smith Visiting Artist Talk at 2 p.m. in Bedford Hall at the RITA, followed by a Reception from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Foundation Gallery.
