UW-Parkside Offers Summer Programs for Kids Ages 11-17

Professional and Continuing EducationSomers, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Parkside Professional and Continuing Education Department is pleased to announce a variety of STEAM-based summer programs for youth ages 11 to 17, running weekdays from July through August. These programs explore coding, technology, and bioscience with an emphasis on personalized instruction and small class sizes.

UW-Parkside’s expert instructors are dedicated to sparking a lifelong passion for science, technology, and learning. Throughout the summer, students will be immersed in engaging, hands-on experiences that allow them to apply their newfound knowledge in practical and fun ways.

Options include:

  • ACT Prep Courses for High School Students | Multiple Dates
  • Beats and Jams: Digital Music Creators | July 15 - 19 | 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • Esports Apprentice: Streamers and Gamers | July 15 - 19 | 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. SOLD OUT
  • YouTube Content Creators | July 22 - 26 | 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • A.I. Adventures: Intro to Machine Learning | July 22 – 26 | 1– 4 p.m.
  • Environmental Explorers | July 29 – Aug 2 | 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. OR 1 – 4 p.m.
  • Minecraft Redstone Engineers | July 29 – Aug 2| 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • Model United Nations | July 29 – Aug 2 | 1– 4 p.m.

For those unable to attend in-person camps, there are online summer math bridge courses to keep children on track with their math skills and prepare them for the upcoming school year.

The cost for camps ranges from $379 to $549. Full price for the Environmental Explorers Camps is only $50, thanks to scholarships provided by Shimadzu. Full Scholarship opportunities for students eligible for free or reduced lunch are also available for all camps thanks to Wisconsin DPI.
