Parkside Athletics Offers Summer Camps for Young Athletes

Youth camps 2024The University of Wisconsin-Parkside Athletics Department is proud to offer a variety of youth camps throughout the summer. The camps include soccer, basketball, and volleyball and provide a fun and safe environment for kids to develop their skills under the instruction of UW-Parkside’s experienced coaches and accomplished athletes.

Nike Soccer Camp at UW-Parkside

The Nike Soccer Camp at UW-Parkside is geared towards Player Development & High-Performance campers. Players will work on mastering the proper fundamentals, techniques, and advancing their overall skills and knowledge of the game. This program is a great opportunity for players to learn through a variety of drills, games, and competitive play. This coed camp runs Aug. 5-9 and is for kids ages 6-15. Camp spots are first-come-first-served.

Men's Basketball

The UW-Parkside Men’s Basketball team is hosting a youth Skills Camp for kids from kindergarten through seventh grade. This program provides a fun environment for kids to improve their basketball skills with professional and certified coaches. Kids will get to compete for awards every day and will also receive a free T-shirt. The camp will run Aug. 5-8 in the De Simone Arena.

Women's Basketball

The UW-Parkside Women’s Basketball team is hosting several camps throughout the summer. The 2024 Elite Camp I will take place on June 23 from 1-5 p.m. and the 2024 Elite Camp II is Aug. 18 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. This program is for females in grades 9-12 and will be held in the De Simone Arena. The 2024 Kids Camp will be held June 24-27 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. each day. This program is for girls from grades 1-8. It will also be held in De Simone Arena.

Volleyball

The UW-Parkside Volleyball team is also hosting camps throughout the summer for kids from various age ranges and skill levels. All campers will also receive a free shirt.

The 2024 Serving and Passing Clinics will be held on July 22 from 5-8 p.m. De Simone Arena. The serving portion will be from 5-5:45 p.m. and the passing portion is 6-8 p.m. This program is for girls in grades 5-12. This repetition-based camp is designed for athletes who want to focus on passing specific skill development. The emphasis will be on the individual development of passing, serving, receiving and defensive techniques combined with heavy repetitions. Campers will be able to focus on creating strong passing and defensive techniques.

The 2024 Blocking and Attacking Clinics will take place on July 23 from 5-8 p.m. in De Simone Arena. The blocking portion will be from 5-5:45 p.m. and the attacking portion is from 6-8 p.m. These clinics are also for girls from grades 5-12. This repetition-based camp is designed for athletes who want to focus on attacking and blocking skill development. The emphasis will be on individual development of attacking techniques combined with heavy repetitions. Campers will be taught the foundational footwork as well as arm swing techniques to take their skills to the next level.

The 2024 Setting Clinic will be offered on July 24 from 5:30-8 p.m. in De Simone Arena. This clinic is for both boys and girls from grades 5-12. Campers will improve their footwork, touch, power, location, tipping, and strategy through many technical drills they can practice long after their camp experience is finished. Whether you’re a beginning setter who has never played, a freshman starter, or a highly recruited varsity star, you will benefit from this unique camp designed specifically with the setter in mind.

The final camp of the summer is the 2024 Little Rangers Clinic from Aug. 31 from 9-11 a.m. in De Simone Arena. This program is for Boys and Girls, ages 6-11. Little Rangers Camp is designed to introduce fundamental volleyball skills to our newest volleyball fans. You will learn the basics of passing, setting, attacking and serving while attending the session. Campers will learn directly from Parkside Volleyball Coaches and Student-Athletes. This camp is designed for beginner to intermediate level individuals who want to learn more about the game of volleyball in a fun, engaging environment. Age is just a suggestion, but campers younger than 6 are more than welcome to attend camp. Stay after camp to observe the 2024 Parkside Volleyball team in their Green & Black Scrimmage.
