Position Title:  Lecturer (Business Law) 

Employment Type: Full time, Academic staff, Exempt 

Reports To: The Lecturer in Business Law will report to the Chair of the Business Department. 

Lecturers in Business Law teach multiple undergraduate legal and business-related classes in the fall and spring and possibly summer semesters. Lecturers may teach day, evening, in-person, online, hybrid and competency-based classes. 


Essential Job Functions

 

  • Teach primarily undergraduate classes in face-to-face, online, hybrid and/or competency-based formats 
  • Schedule and hold office hours 
  • Conduct course assessments and provide feedback 
  • Participate in various meetings and university events 
  • Maintain professional qualifications through activities such as consulting, attending professional development events, and professional engagements.  
  • Courses expected to be taught include Legal Environment of Business and Business Law. 
  • May also teach other courses, such as Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, and Introduction to Business. 
Qualifications

 

  • Graduate degree in law required, J.D preferred 
  • Credentials and experience in accounting preferred

The department also encourages high-impact practices such as supervising student organizations and participating in student competitions, as well as undergraduate and graduate student research.
