This position is ideal for a new graduate or a current human resources professional who is looking to enhance or grow their knowledge base in the area of recruitment, compensation, and/or position classification. This opportunity will position the incumbent to become a future human resources specialist, generalist, or manager.

Position Title: Human Resources Assistant

Employment Type: Full-time, University Staff, Hourly

Reports To: The Human Resources Assistant will report to the Associate Vice Chancellor of HR, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

Pay Range: $41,000 - $48,000 ($19.71 - $23.07)


Essential Job Functions

The Human Resources Assistant performs routine human resources activities and provides general administrative support in more than one functional area such as recruitment, classification, payroll and benefits for a work unit. Serves as a resource contact disseminating information on rules, regulations, procedures, and statutes.

Responsibilities:

  • Interprets, applies, and disseminates routine recruitment and staffing policies, procedures, and options to leadership and employees; recommends best strategies according to established objectives and goals
  • Assists with recruitment, personnel resource allocation, new employee orientations, and maintenance of employee records according to established policies and procedures
  • Prepares and organizes routine administrative communications, resources, and reports and maintains office equipment and supplies, under close supervision
  • Receives and responds to inquiries in-person, via email, and through various communication mediums and relays information to appropriate entities
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree
  • At least two years of administrative support

Although not required, the successful candidate for this position will possess familiarity with state and local government environments and/or higher education institutions.

Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
