The University of Wisconsin-Parkside is proud to offer the graduate assistant coaching positions for the 2025-26 academic year. These graduate assistants will gain valuable experience in Wisconsin’s NCAA Division II athletics department.
The successful candidates will work a 10-month appointment for the 2025-26 academic year, with the opportunity for renewal of a second-year 12-month appointment. Each graduate assistant will receive a full tuition waiver and a total annual stipend of $9,000, distributed in equal monthly payments. These positions will remain open until filled. Anticipated start date for the positions will be August 1, with the potential for a mutually-agreed upon earlier start date and summer employment.
The athletics administration graduate assistants will also assist with the operations of the Sports & Activity Center and Wellness Center functions. To be eligible, students must be admitted to the in-person Master of Sport Management Program (MSSM) at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. Appointments are contingent upon maintenance of minimum credit requirements and good standing in the MSSM program.

Essential Job Functions
FACILITIES AND OPERATIONS
- The facilities and operations graduate assistant will report directly to the Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Capital Projects.
- Assist with day-to-day equipment/issue room operations, including working assigned hours.
- Assist with maintenance and upkeep of athletics and recreation facilities and grounds.
- Coordinate laundry cleaning, distribution, and chemical inventory for all sports programs.
- Assist with facility set up and takedown for Parkside and external events.
- Serve as the facility supervisor for Sports & Activity Center, assigned home events and external rentals.
- Assist with scheduling of facilities for sports competitions and practices, internal and external rentals, intramurals, campus recreation, and University sanctioned events.
- Become familiar with Event Management System (EMS) and Microsoft Outlook Calendar.
STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS
- The strategic communications graduate assistant will report directly to the Associate Athletic Director for External Operations with duties including but not limited to:
- Assist in the day-to-day operation of the Strategic Marketing & Communications Office. This includes, but is not limited to: writing press releases, game recaps, and feature stories for assigned sports. Other tasks include maintaining statistics, record books, photo galleries, managing the athletics website, and photography.
- Serve as the primary contact for assigned sports while aiding in the coverage of other in-season teams.
- Conduct all aspects of pre-game, in-game, and post-game coverage for assigned home contests.
- Promote athletics through social media including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
- Score games using StatCrew or NCAA LiveStats.
- Produce game notes, flyers and previews.
- Assist with graphic design and content creation needs.
BROADCASTING & STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS
- The broadcasting and strategic communications graduate assistant will report directly to the Associate Athletic Director for External Operations with duties including but not limited to:
- Primary broadcaster for all home events – voice of Parkside Athletics
- Oversee aspects of live video streaming production
- Produce, shoot, and edit video content
- Serve as the primary contact for assigned sports while aiding in the coverage of other in-season teams.
- Assist in the day-to-day operation of the Strategic Marketing & Communications Office. This includes, but is not limited to: writing press releases, game recaps, and feature stories for assigned sports. Other tasks include maintaining statistics, record books, photo galleries, and managing the athletics website.
STUDENT-ATHLETE SUCCESS
- The student-athlete success graduate assistant will report directly to the Deputy Athletic Director with duties including but not limited to:
- Develop and activate student-athlete development programming
- Assist with NCAA compliance fulfillment and educational efforts.
- Assist with the athletics certification process.
- Assist with student-athlete mental health and wellness efforts.
- Work closely with RSAAC.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience as a student-athlete, student worker or intern in college athletics, high school, professional sports or relevant equivalent experience.
Preferred:

Relevant experience in the area of communications, broadcasting, facilities, administration, or student success.

Demonstrate the ability to be strategically organized and think innovatively.
