From Middle Earth to Westeros: Fantasy and Fascination

Join us for From Middle Earth to Westeros: Fantasy and Fascination on Oct. 3 from 5-7 pm in the Rita, room L131.

New Line Cinema, HBO, and Amazon Prime have all invested millions in bringing J.R.R. Tolkien and George R. R. Martin’s fantasy worlds to life in movies, tv shows, and computer games. Each world has its own imaginary history, and each reflects and reimagines aspects of our own history and culture. Join UW-Parkside English faculty Dana Oswald, Jay McRoy, Dean Karpowicz, and Mary Lenard in a scholarly conversation about Middle Earth and Westeros.
