Illinois Tuition Assistance

Where Opportunity Meets VALUE!

UW-Parkside is providing a Midwest tuition rate for our neighboring Midwest states which includes Illinois! This mirrors the previous Midwest Student Exchange Program (MSEP).

What does this mean? Well, it's like unlocking a treasure chest of educational opportunities and affordability for students in Illinois. Through the Midwest tuition rate, students from these states can enjoy reduced tuition rates at UW-Parkside, making higher education more accessible and affordable than ever before.

Imagine the possibilities! You can embark on your academic journey at a vibrant campus known for its supportive community, distinguished faculty, and diverse learning experiences—all while saving on tuition costs. It's a win-win situation that paves the way for brighter futures and endless possibilities.

TUITION RATES

The Midwest Exchange tuition rate is approximately 50% above the Wisconsin Resident tuition rate, and around 50% below the non-resident rate. All admitted students will be evaluated for scholarship eligibility OR the Midwest tuition rate and will be offered the option most financially beneficial to the student.

COST CALCULATOR

Is there a limit to the number of students who can have MSEP?
No, there is not! But you will still want to register early so you have access to scholarship opportunities as well.

Is there a GPA or ACT score cut-off?
No, there is not.

NONRESIDENT SCHOLARSHIPS

Students from states* other than Wisconsin or Minnesota are charged the nonresident tuition rate. The amounts listed represent full-time enrollment. Students attending less than full-time are still eligible for the scholarship program, but will receive a prorated amount. Students in programs or courses with special tuition rates do not qualify.

*Students from surrounding Midwest states may qualify for reduced tuition either via the nonresident scholarship program, or the Midwest tuition rate.

LAKE COUNTY ILLINOIS RESIDENTS

The MSEP rates make a college education extremely accessible to our neighbors in Lake County, IL. There is a residency requirement for freshmen and sophomores at all the Universities of Wisconsin. Since you are neighbors, there is an exemption if you live within a commutable range. (Exemptions are listed below.)

This exemption can be a financial savings to you but we also want you to weigh your options. National research shows students who live on campus tend to have higher GPAs and persist to graduation at higher rates than their peers. Here are a few more reasons to consider living on this beautiful campus.

As you continue to research other universities and colleges, consider a few highlights that are unique to you. UW-Parkside has a great location, and it is an exceptional value.
