Health, Kinesiology, and Sport Management Department

The Department of Health, Kinesiology, and Sport Management (HKSM) offers majors in either sport or fitness management. The kinesiology curriculum provides the necessary knowledge and experience to develop a customized fitness and wellness program leading to greater lifelong health and wellness. The sport management curriculum stresses individual proficiency and fundamental management skills. Courses stress preparation for careers in sport marketing, sport management or sport law, to name a few. In team-type activities, familiarization with strategy and advanced skills also will be taught.

You can earn three different minors within our department including a Sport Management Minor, Exercise Science Minor and our popular Coaching Minor.

The Sports and Activity Center (SAC) houses HKSM along with the recreation and division two athletic programs. The facility consists of both new and remodeled spaces. Indoor space includes a gymnasium and field house containing tennis, volleyball, badminton and basketball courts as well as a 200-meter track.
