Interests
My
research interests include gender and the self. Within
these relatively broad areas I have conducted research on
• Gender differences in the accuracy of
self-perceptions.
• Gender stereotypes.
• Gender differences in causal attributions of
performance.
• Self-consistent tendencies.
Grants
and Consulting
• Served as advisor and mentor for a team of Physics
instructors to increase awareness of gender issues at the
Curricular Reform Institute, Oshkosh, WI.
• From 2000-2005 I was Principal Investigator on a
$428,367 grant from the National Science Foundation for the
proposal "Predictors of Women's Interest and Retention in
Undergraduate IT Majors". Results of the studies can be

• I have served on the advisory board of another NSF
grant.
• I have participated in an NSF site visit of a
multi-million dollar grant.
• As a consultant I conducted a gender climate study
and wrote an official report for a private liberal arts
college.
